The Autoscope (8 Channel Scope) is an automotive diagnostic system used to identify and troubleshoot faults in a vehicle. It is a tool used by car mechanics and technicians to diagnose and solve problems in the vehicle. Case studies examine real-world problems with the vehicle to assess the capabilities of the autoscope and technician. Solutions to these problems are found using the Autoscope and other diagnostic tools. These will also be used later in our user training courses to discuss advantages and procedures!

The customer parked her vehicle normally at home in the evening, the next day she wanted to drive to work as usual, the vehicle starts and shuts off again, or stalled briefly when idling, then ran better and after a short time the same thing again, rough idling, even when driving to the workshop, brief misfires!

Troubleshooting on the vehicle
If the engine stalls, the fault lamp (MIL) lights up very briefly and the connected diagnostic device loses connection with the ECU.
 
Therefore, of course, the workshop (Alfa) assumed that the ECU supply voltage would briefly drop, diagnosis would be separated and the MIL would light up, just like with the ignition.
Customer vehicle was checked for errors, all ground and voltage inputs on the control unit (engine) were checked, even under load with the engine running if der Engine malfunctions or goes out. All voltages remain constant, everything is measured with a 1-channel scope, measured one after the other. Thereupon also aAll vacuum hoses checked for false air, nothing conspicuous found, the engine control unit was then diagnosed as the cause, ordered, exchanged and without success!  (control unit 900 €)
Problem as at the beginning - no change!
Now was alreadyWednesday, on Friday the customer needed his vehicle again!
1. Measurement/test (we were on site)
Evaluate self-diagnosis engine live data - Engine stutters and we see these readings
  •  Throttle valve was briefly opened more (automatically)
  •  LMM signal is getting bigger
  •  RPM drops
  •  Schleiferbahn - tension changes
  •  Injection time increases
  •  Battery voltage remains constant
